Citing the full name of the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Mustaʿsim billah (AH 640-656 / AD 1242-1258). Within a circle, ‘al-Imām / al-Mustaʿṣim / billāh Abū Aḥmad ʿAbd / Allāh amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘Imam al-Mustaʿsim billah Abu Ahmad ʿAbd Allah, Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘bism Allāh al-raḥmān al-raḥīm ḍuriba hādhā al-dīnār bi …’ (‘In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. This dinar was struck in …’ in Arabic). Rev.
